The early Apache inhabitants of the South West USA were nomadic people. Some ‘groups’ roamed as far south as Mexico. The Apache were primarily hunters of the Bison but they also practiced limited farming. Bison roamed south in the winter and returned to the north in the summer. The Bison were nomadic and present in vast areas of the Western USA - Primarily the great plains (north to south) and further to the west.
